Summary

MRML is the Multimedia Retrieval Markup Language. Its aims are to unifify access to multimedia retrieval and management software component in order to extend their capoabilities. The success of such a context has already been demonstrated via the developement of the GNU Image Finding Tool (GIFT). This site is now the starting point for the extention and standardization of MRML. We wish to gather the multimedia retrieval community around MRML.

MRML stands for Multimedia Retrieval Markup Language;
MRML is an XML-based communication protocol
MRML has a formal specification
MRML is specified to standardize access to Mumtimedia Retrieval software components
MRML is already successfully implemented and used in existing Multimedia retrieval contexts
The specification of MRML aims at being simple and extensible
There is a list of Open Issues where you may like to contribute.
